Swirlydoos "UDC" Week 2

Well, I made it through the first round of the Swirlydoos "Ultimate Design Challenge". This is my entry for week 2. This week the technique was paper layering. Layering and distressing don't come easy to me, it's a stretch for me, so this was a challenge! I used some pictures of our youngest and his sweetie! They're so cute together!!!

I did use lots of layers of paper, distressing each one. I used lots of Prima on this page and did some "faux stitching" too.

Here you can see some of the layers and the little ZVA pearl flourishes. The pretty Prima vine also.

And here, you see more of the layers again. I printed the pictures in a sepia tone also, to look more aged to go with the page.

You need to visit the Swirlydoos website and check out all the gorgeous entries for this challenge! There are some amazing projects there! And wish me luck to make it to the next round!!! Thanks so much for dropping by.

Anna Griffin on HSN***New Products!***

OMG, Anna Griffin was on HSN all day yesterday and I hope you didn't miss it. If you did you can still catch some of the deals that are left, but you missed the Cuttlebug and her awesome AG folders! They sold out! Along with a lot of her new goodies! You can check the videos on the HSN website if you missed it.

I'm going to share a few of my projects that were shown, and I had so much fun with all of these products. She designed a Cuttlebug for HSN and it's so pretty! It's gold and beautiful just like all of Anna's things! And the folders.......I can't say enough about them, the patterns are stunning!

First, this is a layout that I did with the new Embossing Folders. They each have a border folder too, I used lavendar cardstock and some gold ink and it gave it a "faux flocked" look to the paper! And the detail is amazing!

This is a card done with the Hope Chest collection! This is such a beautiful collection, the papers and embellies are just absolutely gorgeous!

A card done with a couple more of the the embossing folders. Look how well the detail shows up on these!!!

This is a card done with the Floral Empressions card kit, and I also used the embossing folders on it! So many different things you can do!

Another card with the folders and a little "faux stitching" with the Watercolor markers!

This card was done with the Olivia collection. This is one of my all time favorites, the florals and colors are just so pretty!!!

This layout was done with the metallic layers kit, some really pretty foils and colors in this. It didn't show up really well in my photo, but they are perfect for any accents to bring a bang to you projects!
Another card done with the Floral Impressions card kit and the embossing folders. Aren't the butterflies pretty?!?!

You really should check out HSN and see all of the products that they have from Anna Griffin, you will absolutely love them! I'll be back to share more later!!!

New Collection from Anna Griffin!!!

Anna Griffin debuted some new collections last week at CHA, and let me just say they are all fantastic! Two of the new collections are part of the Blend collection and are a little different from her usual style, but I think you will absolutely love them! I will show you two today, Gabbie and Blomma. Fun colors and patterns and so easy to work with.

First up is Gabbie. Lots of fun patterns, colors and a great collection for teens, but versatile enough for lots of different themes. The colors are just awesome!

Super easy to do layouts and cards. Here's a card that I did with the collection too.
Next is Blomma, another really fun and funky collection, but also very versatile. I just loved both of these. And there are more too. Check back later for more new goodies!

These are super fun lines, And there is something new coming up on HSN from Anna also, be sure to tune in on Wednesday Jan. 23, there will be a special new product shown along with some other new collections!!! Don't miss it!!!

Swirlydoos Ultimate Design Challenge

Swirlydoos is having a super contest, the "Ultimate Design Challenge"! I am playing along because they will be technique oriented and I need to learn how to use some mediums and different techniques, and their designers are just the ones to learn from! The first week is going now and this is my project.

This is a page of my Dad when he was young. My design for the challenge is the "faux pocketwatch"! I made it from two pieces of chipboard that I cut into circles. I embossed them with WOW embossing powder in several colors, then stamped the image on the top and used Suzy West black glint embossing powder on the design. I cut a picture and placed on the inside of one piece and then stamped a clock and placed metal clock hands on the other. I covered both with glossy accents. I used stickles around the edge of the entire thing. I used a stick pin for the winder and made a hinge and embossed it also.

I used Imaginarium Designs chipboard, the alphas, the frame and butterfly and also the little gears and embossed them also. Using several colors of  WOW powder on the frame and butterfly.

Here is a closeup of the watch opened.

I added some bling and a butterfly, and used BoBunny papers on the page.

You should visit Swirlydoos and check out all of the projects from all of the entries, there are some beautiful and creative entries!!! Thanks so much for stopping by, I appreciate it greatly!!!

Craft-DeeBowz

I have some happy news to share. I was asked to join the first ever Design Team for Craft-DeeBowz. It's a neat little tool to help you to tie perfect bows every time. You can make single bows, double loop and multi-loop bows of varying sizes, from tiny to medium size bows. And it REALLY works, it only takes a little practice, and there are tutorial videos on the blog. This is my first project for them.

I used paper, stickers and diecuts from Moxxie's XOXO collection.

I did a double-loop bow using the red dot ribbon and one with the white lace and put them together for the bow I added a pretty pearl pin to top it off.

Here are a few close-ups of the details. I used my Kuretake Zig markers for my "faux stitching".

The red blooms were cut with my ECraft using WorldWin ColorMates paper. Their paper cuts so easily on all die-cutting machines, manual and electronic. I have an ECraft, and Cuttlebug and GrandCaliber and the paper cuts beautifully on all.

I urge you to try to Craft-DeeBowz tool, it really does work. I hope you liked the post and I really appreciate you stopping by. Check back later, I'll have more projects to share.
